Mysterious Peru 8 days / 7 nights

  • Day 1 Arrival Lima

    Welcome, assistance at the airport and transport to your hotel. Enjoy the capital of Peru, its 2000 years of history and colonial wealth. Experience the artistic and contemporary traditions of its residents. See the Historic Centre of Lima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and admire its imposing cathedral. Visit the Aliaga Mansion, the best preserved colonial town house in America, inhabited continuously by the same family since 1535. Next: the Monastery of San Francisco, a master work of colonial-era architecture, which has an important collection of paintings from that era. This tour includes the visit of the residential suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores. Stop on the Costa Verde for a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean and beaches.

  • Day 2 Lima / Paracas

    Breakfast in the Hotel. Transport to the bus station for the trip to Paracas (4 hours). Transport in the morning to the bus station for the journey to Paracas, which lasts 3 and a half hours. Stay at your chosen hotel.

  • Day 3 Paracas / flight over the Nazca Lines / Paracas

    Breakfast in the Hotel. Transport to Pisco airport for a one and a half hour flight in a light aircraft over the desert and the mysterious Nazca Lines, which can only be appreciated from the air. Although they are many centuries old, how and why they were created remains an enigma. Admire the new finds at Palpa, lines identical to those at Nazca, which are less well known but no less attractive, as well as the finds at Pisco, Ocucaje and the town of Cahuachi, before ending the trip at the Paracas candelabra. Transport to your hotel on return to Pisco.

  • Day 4 Paracas / Ballestas Islands / Lima

    Breakfast in the Hotel. Transport to Chaco to board the boat that will take you to the Ballestas Islands with their colonies of boobies, pelicans, seals and Humboldt penguins. On the way you will see the unexplained candelabra drawn in the sand. Return to Lima by bus and transport from the bus station to your chosen hotel.

  • Day 5 Lima / Cusco

    Breakfast in the Hotel. Transport from hotel to airport for outbound flight. On arrival in Cusco, assistance at the airport and transport to your hotel. 13:15 See this magical city, capital of the Inca Empire (15th Century) on a city tour that includes the Main Square, the cathedral, Santo Domingo monastery, the legendary Korikancha temple and a stop at San Cristobal for a panoramic view of the city. Then, in the outskirts you will see the Inca ruins at Sacsayhuaman, an impressively designed fortress built of huge stone blocks, Qenqo ceremonial and ritual centre, the amphitheater where sacrifices were held and Tambomachay a temple dedicated to a water cult. Return to Cusco and a brief stop at Plaza Regocijo and the Main Square to visit the cathedral, the principal church of the Diocese of Cusco. At the end of the visit, transport to your hotel.

  • Day 6 Cusco / Machu Picchu

    Breakfast in the Hotel. We will take you to the railway station to catch the train to Machu Picchu. On arrival at Aguas Calientes there is a 25 minute bus journey to "the Lost City of the Incas", discovered by American explorer Hiram Bingham in 1911. The ancient and marvelous city of Machu Picchu is located on the left bank of the river Vilcanota and its name in Quechua means "Old Mountain". Machu Picchu may have been one of the residences of Pachacutec, the first Inca emperor, from 1438 to 1470. Nevertheless, some of the best buildings and the evident ceremonial character of the main access to the city show that it was a religious sanctuary. Machu Picchu is also considered a masterpiece of architecture and engineering because of its singular building techniques and surroundings. Among its most important and unusual features are the Main Square, the royal apartments, the temple of the three windows, the circular towers, the sacred solar clock and the ceremonial areas. Your guide will explain all about this splendid city, making it a truly astonishing experience. After the guided tour, enjoy an excellent lunch, after which you can go back to the city and are free to go wherever you want. Accommodation.

  • Day 7 Machu Picchu / Cusco

    Breakfast in the Hotel. We suggest you rise early to appreciate the sunrise over Machu Picchu, which is an incomparable sight. Return by train to Ollanta station and transport to your hotel in Cusco.

  • Day 8 Cusco / Lima

    Breakfast in the Hotel. Transport from your hotel to the airport of Cusco. End of our services.
